SearchGPT is a new tool and search engine designed to combine OpenAI’s artificial intelligence models with real-time web data for faster and more accurate answers. Although it is not widely used at the moment, it may do better than some search engines in the future.
SearchGPT, the new search engine promoted by OpenAI, has made its first blunder. SearchGPT gave incorrect information about the dates of the Appalachian Summer Festival in Boone, North Carolina. The Summer Festival runs from June 29 to July 27, but the search engine reported the dates as July 29 to August 16.
SearchGPT is still a promising AI
AI bugs happen to every user from time to time. But this is the last thing you look for in a search engine. It also spoils OpenAI’s first impression of SearchGPT. Of course, this problem is not unique to SearchGPT.
Google’s artificial intelligence assistant Bard (Gemini) also had such problems when it was first launched. Some people even think that the subsequent $100 billion drop in Google’s stock price was due to this blunder.
OpenAI still seems to continue to develop its artificial intelligence search engine. Because search engines, including Google and Microsoft Bing, continue to advance artificial intelligence integration for fast and reliable answers to the problems users want.
If OpenAI can turn SearchGPT into a reliable and fast search engine, it can gain a place in the artificial intelligence market.
